Abstract Large vertical displays are increasingly widespread, and content sharing between them and personal mobile devices is central to many usage scenarios. Research has already led to manifold interaction techniques. In most cases however, they do not lend themselves for realistic, in-the-wild usage. In this paper we present our research towards bridging the gap to real world usage. We address the issues of awareness & connectivity as well as privacy, which we believe to be two important aspects of BYOD (bring your own device) content sharing between public displays and mobile devices.

An Incentive-Aware Lightweight Secure Data Sharing Scheme for D2D Communication in 5G Cellular Networks
Due to the explosion of smart devices, data traffic over cellular networks has seen an exponential rise in recent years. This increase in mobile data traffic has caused an immediate need for offloading traffic from operators. Device-to-Device(D2D) communication is a promising solution to boost the capacity of cellular networks and alleviate the heavy burden on backhaul links. However, dir...

Usage patterns of private mobile devices are constantly evolving. For example, researchers have recently found that mobile users prefer using their devices with only one hand. Furthermore, current hardware in these devices reduces the need for a stylus and instead relies on finger input. However, current interactive techniques, such as those used for sharing documents between private and public...

We perform comparative analysis of the visual quality of multiple 3D displays – seven portable ones, and a large 3D television set. We discuss two groups of parameters that influence the perceived quality of mobile 3D displays. The first group is related with the optical parameters of the displays, such as crosstalk or size of sweet spots. The second group includes content related parameters, s...

The proximate composition, amino acid and fatty acid composition in the muscle of wild, inshore and offshore cage-cultured large yellow croaker (Pseudosciaena crocea) were determined to identify nutritional differences. Wild fish groups showed highest content of moisture and crude protein, but lowest lipid content. Offshore cage-cultured fish showed significantly higher content of moisture and ...

Motion gestures have been proposed as an interaction paradigm for pairing, and sharing data between, mobile devices. They have also been used for interaction with large screens such as semi-public displays where a mobile phone can be used as a form of remote control in an eyes-free manner. Yet, so far, little attention has been paid to their potential use in cross-device web applications. We th...
